The international memorial day was held for Asian women forced into sexual slavery by the Japanese military during World War II.

The National ceremony marking the International Memorial Day for Comfort Women took place at the Hill of National Commemoration in Cheonan, south of Seoul, with the slogan of "memory for the future."

About 100 people, including elderly Korean women sexually enslaved by the imperial Japanese army, participated.

South Koreans have called on Japan to offer a sincere apology and compensation for the victims, but the neighbouring country has remained silent.

It is the third time that the government has hosted a national ceremony commemorating the day since 2018, when it was designated a national memorial day. 

The International Memorial Day for Comfort Women falls on Aug. 14th, the day when the late Kim Hak-soon, a former comfort woman, first publicly testified about Japan operating an organized military brothel program during the war in 1991.

"The testimony by Kim Hak-soon resonated across the globe, revealing the truth and the violence against women," she said. "Now we have to think of what we can learn from the tragedy in history."

The government then opened a digital archive that stored more than 500 files of documents and materials on "comfort women," a euphemistic term for the former sex slaves. 

The online depository (www.archive814.co.kr) includes reports by the United Nations forces during the Korean War and official statements by the Japanese government.

Up to 200,000 women, mostly Koreans, were coerced into sexual servitude in front-line Japanese brothels when the Korean Peninsula was a Japanese colony.

Anyone can participate and submissions from all over the world will be woven together to create a feature film, produced by Ridley Scott, directed by Kevin Macdonald, filmed by you, and premiering at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival.

The 6-3 ruling adds LGBTQ people to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, which forbids discrimination based on sex, race, color, national origin and religion.

Stone Riots a brief history: Very few establishments welcomed gay people in the 1950s and 1960s. At the time Stonewall Inn was owned by mafia, it catered to the poorest and most marginalised people in the community: Butch Lesbians, Effeminate young men, Drag Queens, Male Prostitutes, Transgender people and Homeless Youths. A year after Stonewall on June 28th 1970 the first gay pride marches took place in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The Stonewall Monument was established at the site in 2016.

Lillian Faderman calls the riots the 'Shots heard around the world' saying 'The Stonewall Rebellion was crucial because it sounded the rally for that movement, it became emblem of gay and lesbian power'.

Life Update, I'm Back

And we are back in the blogging game after 2 years! 

As we all know and have been in lockdown (kill me) I'll be very honest with you guys its been so hard, so hard. I hope it has been do-able for you guys, I hope you have coped better than me as I turned to food!

I officially went into self isolation on the 24th March and the shop I work in shut on the 25th March so since then we have been on furlough pay (its shit) but we are luckier than others so I am grateful for that.

Also the pub I worked in closed and wont be reopening so I don't have that no more which is a shit because I really liked it but it cant be helped.

How many days have I been in lockdown? - As of today my computer says its the 11/06/2020 I have been in lockdown for 80 days, I tracked it on my calendar. 

What have I done in lockdown? - Honestly nothing! 

I will not becoming out of this lockdown professional at anything other than eating, no new skills, no new languages, I am not tiktok famous, I am still single still. 

The only thing I did do was perfect my skin care routing and start brushing my hair and that's ok.

This is how bad my hair has gotten!! 

I need a hair dresser badly... and the eyebrows lord heaven help me.

15th June is faze 2 the official day when None essential shops can start opening clothes shops and books shops. 

What have I learnt about myself in lockdown?

1: I love to eat everything and anything.... Except tomatoes!

2: I love cold coffee.

3: I hoard books 

4: I don't prioritize money properly 

5: I could live in my Pj'S, Forever!

6: I have no hobbies what so ever.

7: I have the attention span of a goldfish.

8: The only dishes I can cook pre lockdown are spaghetti bolognaise, curry oh and beans on toast.

9: I started at the Open University.

10: The only house work I like doing is washing my clothes.

11: I have got more steps in walking around my living room than I ever did outside.

12: I do not own a pair of trainers. (pre lockdown)

13: TikTok scares me! (everyone is so talented, I am not!)

14: I love everything Korean. 

15: I will never be thin. 

Just a little good news for you all I have made plans with my friend for dinner when everything is open again.

Bailey's Diary

I am so sorry for the quietness from me I have had the worst week ever my dog Bailey passed away on the 8th August 2016, while I was at work.

When I came home at 7pm he was on the bathroom floor he was all alone, I wish I was with him I would have spoke to him and told him everything was going to be alright.... But I wasn't.

I am coming to terms with it very slowly he was my child, I am getting used to the loneliness.

We saved each other baby.

This library is amazing if you past the modern part and into the back you will come across the old stuff which I always thing is the best. They have a amazing collection of rare and ancient books.

This library Houses the statue of Hugh Fredrick Hornby if you know the history he donated all the collection of his book along with £10,000 to build a building to house the books when he died.

Nelson Mandela

The death of Nelson Mandela has affected an array of people throughout the world. The 95-year-old civil rights leader was more than the face of post-Apartheid South Africa, he was the embodiment of a movement that asked for basic human dignity regardless of colour or creed.

Honoured throughout his life for his works with HIV/AIDS, social justice, and poverty, the Nobel Peace Prize winner also touched many in the world of fashion.

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela (18 July 1918 – 5 December 2013) was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary as well as a politician and philanthropist who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.

In April 1959, militant Africanists dissatisfied with the ANC's united front approach founded the Pan-African Congress (PAC); Mandala's friend Robert Sobukwe was elected president, though Mandela thought the group "immature". Both parties campaigned for an anti-pass campaign in May 1960, in which Africans burned the passes that they were legally obliged to carry. One of the PAC-organised demonstrations was fired upon by police, resulting in the deaths of 69 protesters in the Sharpeville massacre. In solidarity, Mandela publicly burned his pass as rioting broke out across South Africa, leading the government to proclaim martial law. Under the State of Emergency measures, Mandela and other activists were arrested on 30 March, imprisoned without charge in the unsanitary conditions of the Pretoria Local prison, while the ANC and PAC were banned in April. This made it difficult for their lawyers to reach them, and it was agreed that the defence team for the Treason Trial should withdraw in protest. Representing themselves in court, the accused were freed from prison when the state of emergency was lifted in late August. Mandela used his free time to organise an All-In African Conference near Pietermaritzburg, Natal, in March, at which 1,400 anti-apartheid delegates met, agreeing on a stay-at home protest to mark 31 May, the day South Africa became a republic. On 29 March 1961, after a six-year trial, the judges produced a verdict of not guilty, embarrassing the government.

Mandela died of a lung infection on 5 December 2013 at his home in Houghton, Johannesburg. He was 95 years of age and surrounded by his family. His death was announced by President Jacob Zuma. On 6 December Zuma announced a national mourning period of ten days, with the main event being an official memorial service to be held at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on 10 December 2013. Mandala's body will lie in state from 11 to 13 December at the Union Buildings in Pretoria and a state funeral will be held on 15 December 2013 in Qunu.



FILM: The Family

As you all know i am not good at doing reviews so we will just talk about it my way.

The family

The Manzoni family a notorious mafia clan is relocated to Normandy, France under the witness protection program, where fitting in soon becomes challenging as their old habits die hard.

My thoughts: This is a good film over all. I love it when the lady asks for peanut butter and then ends up blowing up the store, another good bit is when the plumber comes and he ends up beating the shit out of him then taking him to the hospital.

The only problem with this film is it just ends! 

After a huge fight it just ends, I was disappointed.

Since i got this little man we have just grown stronger and stronger together i think it's about time i told you all our story. 
Back in the days i had lost my job, i got very depressed and was spiraling down a dark hole i didn't want to eat of even get out of bed i got so ill, my husband at the time took me out for the day to the Cheshire dogs home link here i wasn't really interested in getting a dog i could barely look after myself but walking round i see a dog cowering in the corner he was a cavalier king Charles he looked petrified and scared out of his whits i bent down to the cage then all of a sudden this hug dog came at me and started barking like crazy.
We asked the woman if we could have a look at the king Charles she brought him out and he sat with me on the floor just leaning against me i new right then i was not leaving without him and he new it to, i think.
Getting him was a pain in the arse it was my husbands pay day so we new we had some money but none of the bank cards where working so we had to go back into town withdraw the money out then back to the dog's home where hopefully he still was.
We paid £100 for him because he is a full pedigree dog but the dogs home burned his papers. I spoiled him rotten got a him a giant bowls and toys and chew sticks he lives like a king.
Over time we noticed he wasn't so good with other dogs and when it came to humans he was literally a ankle biter, he had good manners.

You see he saved me and i saved him, he gets me up and out, he has me running across fields with him no matter what the weather, we run across beaches, i get wet sloppy kisses in the morning, he has leaned where the biscuit tin is. Recently we got him neutered and he has put on so much weight we are going to be doing more running i think, he farts and snores like a trooper he eats everything in sight and gets under you feet but i wouldn't have him and other way. This year i am working on getting a passport for him so i can take him travelling with me last time i went it was murder for me not having him around.

Here's a few cheeky moments since i got him. I have had him for 3 year i think now.
