BOOK: Witch Child by Celia Rees

My Opinion: I can't stop talking about this book it is great easy read.
There are some parts where I skipped the religious jabber and get back to the story of the witches'. Everyone must read highly recommend if your going threw a bit of a reading slump like I was.

Book Plot:
Enter the world of young Mary Newbury, a world where simply being different can cost a person her life. Hidden until now in the pages of her diary, Mary's startling story begins in 1659, the year her beloved grandmother is hanged in the public square as a witch. Mary narrowly escapes a similar fate, only to face intolerance and new danger among the Puritans in the New World. How long can she hide her true identity? Will she ever find a place where her healing powers will not be feared?

BOOK: Chestnut Street by Maeve Binchy

This book is a great easy read, it kept me wanting to know about the crazy neighbor's in the street.
I read this in two days only because I had to work..... ๐Ÿ“š

Bailey's diary

Today I visited a park I didn't even know was their I have lived behind it for nearly 5 years now how crazy is that.
Me and my friend Jenny have been trying to plan a get together for a while now but with me moving and working her going free-lance the both of us just couldn't catch 2 minutes.
It was very spur of the moment we decided by 11 am and out the door by one hahaha their the best days.
We went to Marbury Country Park Click here

So I grabbed the dog and a sandwich and we headed out for a very muddy, wet walk and I loved every second of it.
I didn't even mind when she clouted me on the head with her brolly fussing the dog.

We both really needed it she was stressed because free-lance had died down over Christmas and she had a bit of family trouble with her mother.
I needed it for sure I am moving on the 16th November and it is so stressful the dog is going crazy my family has gone all silent and I'm just worrying.

The dog needed it because he just did he knows something is going on, the house is a mess and he keeps getting under my feet and running away from boxes.

We all needed it and it was great, we slept that night.
After that we went for coffee at the local garden centre and we had a giant slab of chocolate cake between us (yummy) we also had a very funny talk about MEN! As us woman do over coffee and cake.
(Inside joke) Ducks and depression... ๐Ÿ˜‚

BOOK: Roxy Music by Johnny Rogan

I have to admit this book is poop!
I was really looking forward to it but since reading it its crap, a spoiled man who thinks he's going to get to face quickly by being weird and eccentric.

I would recommend the only thing this book need's is going in the bin.. ๐Ÿ“š

Book: The Executioners Song

The Executioners Song
By Norman Mailer

OK so I have been on This book for a while now and its driving me crazy it doesn't make sense.
I'm 230 pages in and he has only just killed someone.... And it's killing me with boardem. I was so excited about this book I really was but God the details are horrendous they go all the way back to the cousins daughters nephews brother...... I'm going to give it some more time then move on to another one then come back to it, I believe every now and then you need a break from a book that has 1060 pages in.

Have you read it?
What's your thoughts?

Book: Gods of Egypt

The first book from my new found way of choosing a book is
Gods Of Egypt by Orlando Smart-Powell.
I won this book in a competition on Goodreads it is also signed.

BOOK - The Cairo Trilogy

This book is huge I don't know what I was expecting
but it wasn't that!. I have only read a couple of pages of this book and I find it great I hope it carries on like that.

Film: Hitchcock

  1. Following his great success with "North by Northwest," director Alfred Hitchcock (Anthony Hopkins) makes a daring choice for his next project: an adaptation of Robert Bloch's novel "Psycho." When the studio refuses to back the picture, Hitchcock decides to pay for it himself in exchange for a percentage of the profits. His wife, Alma Reville (Helen Mirren), has serious reservations about the film but supports him nonetheless. Still, the production strains the couple's marriage.

  2. My personal opinion is I love this film why didn't I watch it sooner?
  3. I don't really like anything with Scarlett Johansson in it but this was good for her  as always Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren where amazing.
  4. Who new his obsession with death and the ladies would make him a millionaire.

Film: In the name of the king.

A dungeon siege tale

As war looms in an idyllic kingdom, a man named Farmer (Jason Statham) begins a heroic quest to find his kidnapped wife (Claire Forlani) and avenge their son, who was murdered by horrible warriors called Krugs.
Meanwhile, villainous Gallian (Ray Liotta) sends his evil army to overthrow the rightful king (Burt Reynolds) and steal the throne.

My personal opinion is this film is awful. It is so not a Jason film in fact the whole film is embarrassing really fake acting. Even pearl was awful in it which was shocking because he is a great actor.
I just found the film cheesy comedy.

Beatrix Potter

Over the weekend I have been recovering from surgery and the internet was down so all I had was the telly (not my first choice) anyway I wanted to watch a few films so I decided on watching a good old fairy tale the one I choose was great Beatrix Potter.
My old time favourite I just love that woman being a lakes girl myself I think she did wonders for the country side it's because of her we have a one.

When I saw the film Miss Potter I just had to have it and watch it also it has some amazing actors in it Ewan McGregor, Renee Zellweger. Although the film was great and heart breaking (I cried when Norman died) it really showed you a woman despite her ravishing life and wanting for nothing she was not afraid to get her hands dirty when called for also she was a very loving and caring woman with people and animals.

BOOK: The Exorcist By William Peter Blatty

The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty -
My friend from work recommended this book so here goes, I wasn't really interested in the film I hope the book is better.

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING, I was pissed when I had to put it down to go to work it took me three days to read I totally recommend it to everyone.

What are you reading this month?

Quote

“Think of what it is that you love doing so much that when you are doing it, the hours are flying by. Figure out a way to make that your career, and you will be happy for the rest of your life!”

Movies: We Still Kill The Old Way.

When retired East End villain Charlie Archer is murdered by a feral street gang, his brother Ritchie returns to London from Spain to investigate.
My opinion is I liked this film it has some great older actors in it who I love anyway, the comedy was good from the older ones.
My only problem there was not enough torture it started but was over far too quick, I think they should have put a bit more in it.

BOOK: If On a Winters Night a Traveller

If on a winter's night a traveller is a 1979 novel by the Italian postmodernist writer Italo Calvino. The narrative, in the form of a frame story, is about the reader trying to read a book called If on a winter's night a traveller. Each chapter is divided into two sections. The first section of each chapter is in second person, and describes the process the reader goes through to attempt to read the next chapter of the book he is reading. The second half is the first part of a new book that the reader ("you") finds. The second half is always about something different from the previous ones and the ending is never explained. The book was published in an English translation by William Weaver in 1981.

My personal opinion is: This book is driving me crazy I hate stuff that repeats it self and this book is doing it royally!
I can only read a few pages at a time because anymore and I would loose it with the book plus unless its just me I don't think it make sense none of it. But I am carrying on reading I am not one to give upon a book even if it does drive me crazy.

Poem: E. E. Cummings

“I carry your heart with me
(I carry it in my heart)
I am never without it
(anywhere I go, you go my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)

I fear no fate
(for you are my fate, my sweet)
I want no world
(for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you, here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart

(I carry it in my heart)”

Living a Simple Life

Its the same every year when the New Year starts we all detox our bodies and de clutter the house but no body ever de clutters the mind.

Here's a few handy thing to help you along the way:

1: Know your priorities.
Minimalist is about making space for the stuff that matters.
Choose 3 - 6 things that are the most important to you.

2: Stop over committing.
Your time is precious!
Current commitments align with you priorities and which do you keep up out of obligations?

3: Get rid of Clutter.
Physical clutter has a negative impact on you stress levels.
De clutter!

4: Don't aim for 24/7 productivity.
Stop trying to fill everyday with something.
Allow your self two hours daily to recharge.

5: Tend your mind like a garden.
Your mental space deserves your attention too listen to it.
Practice mindfulness and give mediation a go too.

6: Buy Less!
Try to be a little more mindful of what you introduce in to you life.
Spend more on experiences than thing, it last longer.

7: Unsubscribe!
Information overload...Dilutes attention and energy.
Focus on a few favourite sources and unsubscribe from the rest.

8: Turn off the Notifications.
Social media and email keep us in constant distracted state by creating a false urgency.
Turn them off.

9: Single Task.
Multitasking  is a huge energy zapper and not very efficient.
Try one task at a time with a mini break ever hour.

BOOK: The Dwarves

The Dwarves by Markus Heitz

My personal opinion is: This book was great to start with by now I am half way threw it it is getting quiet boring dragging a bit, I have taken a break for a few weeks but I will start with I gin soon and hope it gets better.

For countless millennia, no man or beast has ever succeeded in breaching the stone gateway into Girdlegard. Until now . . .
Abandoned as a child, Tungdil the blacksmith is the only dwarf in a kingdom of men. But when he is sent out into the world to deliver a message and reacquaint himself with his people, the young foundling finds himself thrust into a battle for which he has not been trained. Not only his own safety, but the life of every man, woman and child in Girdlegard depends upon his ability to embrace his heritage.
Although he has many unanswered questions, Tungdil is certain of one thing: no matter where he was raised, he is a true dwarf.
And no one has ever questioned the courage of the Dwarves.
What's your first new year book?
