#ENDCHILDPOVETY

I am not generally one for bringing politics to this blog but this Free School Meal debate is making me very angry, because it shouldn't of been up for debate in the first place.
When I was at school me and my sibling got free school meals because my parents couldn't afford pack lunches your lucky if we could afford a school uniform, I lived in hand me downs me and my sisters style where so different.

I know personally how much free school meals are needed and even more so now the virus has wiped out most peoples employment and benefits are being reduced, when it comes to looking for a job it 500 people to 1 job, its impossible now supermarkets are rising prices on food and believe me that's hit even me hard so just imagine how its going to hit young families.
Mental health is at a all time high already, suicide has been rising throughout lockdown at an alarming rate now your taking away the one thing we need to live a basic life right, the thing that keeps us alive, FOOD!

What gives you the right to take away peoples food?
Who gives you the right to say who lives and who dies?
You are not god!
You are a government and can be replaced!
The people of England are stronger and better than you, any and all of you!

Children should not pay the price for and adults mistakes.

Families have experienced food insecurity over the last 6 months.
Families have lost income as a result of Covid-19.
Demand for food banks this winter is predicted to be 61% higher than last.

With the Child Food Poverty Taskforce, I am calling for Government to allocate money to:

- Expand free school meals to all under-16s where a parent or guardian is in receipt of Universal Credit or equivalent benefit
- Provide meals & activities during all holidays
- Increase the value of Healthy Start vouchers to at least £4.25 per week, and expand the scheme.

Betty!

Let me tell you all what happened I was walking to work this morning and came across a bat on the floor I didn't know what to do first of all I walked passed it and thought let nature take its course but every step I took I was feeling more guilty so I turned around and picked it up with a tissue and took it home put it in a bucket I found under the sink with some tissue and put a tea towel over it, it was there when I came home.
I was going to take it to the vets but today is Sunday and the vets is shut so I looked up online on how to care for it till I can take it some where.

This is what it told me:
DO NOT handle a bat with bare hands,
do not attempt to rehabilitate the bat on your own:
To do so could jeopardize your safely as well as the life of the bat.
Line a box with an old t-shirt so the bat has something to hang upside-down on. Create some pleats in the shirt so the bat can hide if it wants to.
(Make sure any tape that is used is secured well so the bat won’t get stuck.)
Put a small amount of water in a small, shallow container like a baby food jar lid. Place the lid on the bottom of the container and next to a wall so the bat can hang over it to drink. Make sure a top is secured to the box as some bats can squeeze through a crack as thin as 1/4″!
If you must handle the bat please remember to wear thick gloves (even though rabies is rare in bats, if it bites you it will need to be euthanized and tested). Until help is located, keep the box in a room where the bat won’t get too warm or too cold and keep the bat away from children and pets.

The Sirens and Ulysses 1837

William Etty 1784 - 1849

The subject is from ancient Greek poem The Odyssey it represents the scene from Homer's narrative where Ulysses leads his men past the monstrous Sirens.
In mythology these creatures lure sailors to their island with songs so enchanting that men die listening.
Ulysses escapes the sirens by being lashed to his ship and by ordering his men to stuff their ears with wax.
The artist modelled the dead bodies in the foreground on real corpse which he had sketched in morgues, Often derided by the critics for the overt nudity in his works Etty was particularly scorned for the "Sirens and Ulysses" because of its juxtaposition of nudity and death.
The painting was bought from the artist by Daniel Grant a Mancunian cotton mill farmer.

When I saw the painting in Manchester Art Gallery I couldn't take my eyes off it, its amazing I kept going to walk away I just kept stopping and sitting back down, this painting is just incredible.
It stopped me in my tracks.

Manchester

So the other day I took myself out for a day in Manchester and it was amazing I got lost a few times found myself at oxford street I think and visited china town.
Also I went on a big wheel that was there as well not I am usually a person who is fearless and tries everything once I have never been scared of height's never.
UNTIL....

I went on the Big Wheel...

OMFG!

From the moment I sat down I could feel my tummy just drop I never moved an inch at all I was holding on for my life if anyone saw me they would have laughed at me, Then to make things worse when we were at the top it stopped and I panicked even more then the wind started rocking it, never again, never.

When I got off I had to have a moment to find my legs and when I got home a hour later my tummy still felt crazy.

FILM: Naked 1993

Johnny flees Manchester for London, to avoid a beating from the family of a girl he has raped. There he finds an old girlfriend, and spends some time homeless, spending much of his time ranting at strangers, and meeting characters in plights very much like his own.

A must see film i just watched it awesome - ness

I love this film (i just want to marry David) the start of this film was a bit shocking because it starts with a rape but every thing else was brill i am so glad i watched it. The film was made in 1993 by mike Leigh and he casted the actors perfectly.
