Two billion cups of coffee are consumed every day. We’re a nation of caffeine lovers, but beyond the flat whites and cafeterias, something devastating is unfolding at source. Low wages, complex supply chains, bargain beans and climate change are just a few of the problems threatening the future of coffee farming today. The industry is broken and farmers are losing out. We’re on a mission to fix it.
It takes the average farmer three years to produce speciality coffee. Despite this, 70% of farmers worldwide are living below the poverty line. From farm to customer, there are roughly ten middle parties in the supply chain. Too often, this system leaves hardworking farmers with crumbs. Enough is enough. We’re taking action through direct trade, paying great prices for great coffee, long-term relationships and sustainable farming practices.
Stephen discovered that from farm to customer, there are traditionally 10 middle parties in the supply chain. Too often, this model leaves hardworking coffee farmers with crumbs. Stephen decided to take matters into his own hands by building direct relationships with farmers worldwide and paying them premium prices for premium coffee.
