TOGETHER WE CAN CLOSE THE LOOK
H & M CONSCIOUS
For a more sustainable fashion future
April 18th - April 24th
Clothing that can be worn again is marketed world wide as second - hand goods.
Textiles that are no longer suitable to wear are converted into other products, such as cleaning cloths.
Textiles that cant be reused get a new chance as textile fibres, or are used to manufacture products such as damping and insulation materials for the auto industry.
Each year tons of clothes and textiles end up in landfills but as much as 95% could be used again.
The H&M garment collecting initiative has been created to decrease the waste and close the fashion loop. By reusing and recycling the will get a new life.
Your textiles are sent with out usual deliveries to the nearest processing plant. The clothes are then graded and hand - sorted. Zero waste is the goal.
Items that are too worn and torn to be reused will be recycled and turned in to raw materials and new products. When rewear, reuse and recycle are not options the textiles are used to produce energy.
For each kilogram of textiles that gets collected 0.02 euros will be donated to the local charity organisation chosen by H&M.
